General Chat / Re: Guild Matters 27/05/2019
« on: May 27, 2019, 06:14:39 am »
Hi there,
I have read it.
2 things from me.
Did we have someone named Sheldon Cooper from Big bang?
I always try to wait for a good 10 minutes before attempting to finish off a woonded opposition team. Apologies if I was part of team pinching.
Chris/growler

Yes, we has a member last year called Sheldon Cooper. Would not take part in two TW's in a row. Then do a third TW, then skip 2 etc. To get past the guild rules

Good Morning All!!
I hope that you are all doing extremely well and that the cold of winter is not freezing your tootsies..
Feels like I am writing one of these every month now but there is once again a few things I would like to address.
For the past couple of weeks I can see more and more messages popping up about people not reading the chats for instructions or in game for instructions. Please take note that the guild has three different ways of communicating:
•   Whatsapp Groups
•   Discord
•   In Game Chat
We use these platforms to communicate and relay information and instructions. I know we are all busy and that sometimes we just go ahead and just do our own thing but sometimes it impacts the guild as well.
I will ask that before going into Raids/Guild Events like Territory War and Battles that you take a few minutes to at least read up on the past hours communication to see if there are not specific instructions.
In regards to the Territory Wars and Battles you will see the officers give specific instructions and that we want you to follow to the last letter. Territory War specifically for Defence Placement etc.
The officers of late have started to give specific instructions to some members regarding defence placement and we can see that the opposition is not running away with us.
Please take note also of raid times and when a specific raid takes place.
•   Rancor – Sunday (Regular Rules – There is one exception to this and this is the last Sunday of each month when we do a Themed Rancor) Tuesday Rancor is Simmed, Thursday Rancor Speed Run
•   Haat – Wednesday nights for the Tank Tamer Title , if you have the title then limit your damage to 5 million and allow your fellow guild members to get it. Saturday night Haat is free for all and you can do as much damage as possible.
•   Sith Raid – Currently with us running T6 till Exodus is back we use this as training to mod your teams and test them out. If you have mastered a squad then please don’t make use of them. Currently we will be launching a Heroic Sith on the 7th of June at 7PM. Regarding Heroic Sith we will call for specific teams again and certain people to hit at certain points and full communication over the different Communication platforms.
Please familiarize yourself with these times. We might also not have enough tickets sometimes to launch a raid. If this is the case the raid is skipped over till the next time.
I have a bit of a concern with the Territory Wars currently as for the past two we have had members join the war but ended up not playing at all or contributing 0 banners in total but still receiving rewards. These guild events if you all would recall is non-negotiable.
I will be referring to the guild rules for this:
‘3) Join all Guild Activities where possible:

Join all Raids, Territory Wars and Territory Battles where possible. These end-game Guild activities are where we receive currencies and materials that benefit our accounts in the long run. The more members participate, the more rewards we receive, and the faster we progress as a guild.
There is a general rule that we normally follow with the Territory events.
If you did not participate in 2 consecutive events then a warning will be given by an officer. If you fail to join for a third time then a kick is warranted.
If you skip 2 events then join for a third but skip the following a kick will just be issued without warning. We as officers refer to this rule as the Sheldon Cooper rule. Named after a member that used to do exactly that.
We would like to grow with you and freeloading is not tolerated as we all want the best rewards with maximum participation.
With that said there are exceptions to the rule. When you are on leave etc. make sure you have posted on the forum and let us know in the groups. If you are struggling or taking a break let one of the officers know.
An officer will reach out before any kick does take place.’

This guild works as a unit and we can only do it if you all take part.
There is also another grievance that has come to my attention in the guild regarding Territory War and that is Squad Sniping. I know when those first two blocks fall then everyone goes in and swarm and it is a frenzy.
Before attacking a damaged squad rather ask in the groups if the member that did damage the squad is not going to go and finish it off. It is common courtesy to just ask before hitting it as they might be getting their squad ready only to get the message that the squad is already engaged in battle.
I have also noticed the following and that is that our big hitters are sometimes absent when we need them most. I know it is not always possible but we need you guys to try and be available when we need a block cleared.
One thing about Territory War is that there is a psychological element there as well. If you keep the nose in front of your opponent the whole time then eventually they will give up or they will get frenzied and start wasting squads to try and keep up.
This happened in the last Territory War. Between Suilenroc, R2D2, Spocky, Soisie and myself we took down their first block within an hour. We then hit that Revan block and even if we could do some damage we would have appreciated the help from some of the big hitters.
This is where the psychology part comes in. By the next morning we still had some Traya and Revan squads left and Spocky and myself then to try and get in front and trying to break the block started throwing high end squads against them without any success.
I think and this is just a suggestion that we see how quickly we can have those first two blocks fall. It will not only be a deterrent to our opposition but also a massive psychological advantage to us. We go at it and then continue momentum.
Tonight a new Territory battle starts as well. You will receive detailed instructions on this as well. Our current record for the Darkside TB is 39 Stars and it could be 40 but we need you all to follow directions perfectly. The officers will contact you for specific placements etc.
Don’t fill blocks when we can’t fill them etc. Look before deploying GP. If the block only requires 30k for a star then don’t deploy your full 1 million GP in the block.
One thing we forget with the guild these days is to also still have a bit of fun. We are a 120 Million GP Guild – Who would have thought that was possible at all. We have cleared Heroic Sith Raid. We are doing an amazing job but as I say that it should not be a job it is what we all love to do to keep our minds busy, escape a bit from reality etc.
We can see how the game is changing and it is that we are always on the hunt for the next thing. If you need a break or if you are unhappy about something then please contact me. Speak to me and let us see if we can help you.
School holidays are approaching and if you are going on leave then please don’t forget to inform an officer and post on the guild forum so that we are aware. We are reasonable and do understand you are not machines and will work with you.
We post this quite a lot like you are like family. Brothers and Sisters in another format. We appreciate everything that you do for the guild and working together.
Have a wonderful day!!

Hello to All!!!

I hope that you are all well this morning. I have a few things on my heart this morning and a few concerns especially about the raids.

Henceforth a Sith raid T6 will not be launched at 19:00 again. It will be launched at 07:00 AM. The reason for this is the following. This guild has always been that the whole guild grows and drive each other forward and something has changed over the last couple of months.

We are all growing our rosters we are all improving and doing more and more damage but we forget sometimes that we have members that are still learning the mechanics of the raids. Trying to do their best for the guild but we don’t give them the opportunity to learn or get their teams right.

What this is causing is a divide currently where some members chase the big scores in raids but the rest are feeling it is a hopeless case since they don’t sometimes even get the opportunity to play their teams in the phase where they are supposed to play it.

Keep in mind how we did the Heroic Sith Raid. We needed everyone to participate we need every character/toon/roster to be optimal and know the mechanics on how to play. You will notice that I am slowly withdrawing myself from the raid to give other people the opportunity to learn and to perfect their teams.

I played the third phase last night only to make a video and I will just make a minimal score in the rest till we hit Heroic again.

Therefore I plead with you all. If you have mastered a team in a phase to remove that team and only play with a team that you are still unsure of.

The attempt refreshes at 12AM is also not helping since it allows players to play a team again. I ask that if you have played a team to learn and practice to give the rest of the members an equal opportunity to test their teams as well.

We need everyone to play at their best. We also need to be fair. Our Heroic attempt was not done on who could do the most damage. If that was the case we would have failed as we would have had every Revan team trying to hit phase 2 for maximum damage instead of trying to whittle down phase 3 for us which I saw as the breaking point and which I was terribly afraid of stalling in.

On this note. I know I spoke about changing a Wednesday Haat to be open but I retract my words. Haat on a Wednesday night will still be for the Tank Tamer Title and I want you all to think of your fellow guild members.

Rancor most of us have mastered. I think it is currently just Citizen U and Zappo that can learn the dance even if having Raid Han at 7 stars and if they tell me they would like to give it a go I will give the instruction to end sim rancor and give them the opportunity to do so.

The rancor and haat are the building blocks to understand how to work with teams. What to look out for whilst playing. How every run is different and if you have watched my videos regarding the JTR’s teams in the Sith raid how different every run is and how you must adapt in the raids.

There is a damage limit that is in place of 5 Million or less in Haat and I ask that you all respect that on a Wednesday night. Let us give our members the equal opportunity that we were all granted to master the raids.

A Saturday Haat would still be open to hit it as hard as you can and to fight it out for top spot!!!

This guild is like an extended family to me and I see you all as friends and family. I would like us all to succeed and not just some. We are all in different stages in the game but we all learn from each other. Support each other and work together.

If we try and do it alone we will fail. We need you all! Keep the game fun whilst we all grow. We have come such a long way and I am so proud of you all but let us also uplift each other.

If you have problems then please contact me. My door is always open and I hardly sleep.

There is a Territory War also on the go and we are busy setting defences. Support the officers there as well. The amount of work these officers put in is ridiculous as they search for strategy and try and get us the win.

I know a win is not always possible but we try and do our very best. Cheer each other on and communicate with each other.

Good luck with those farms I know it is not easy. Have some fun and look at ticket production.

Have a wonderful day!

Regards

Dragoh

Welcome / Re: Request for revision to raid rules
« on: March 09, 2019, 02:16:42 pm »
Thanks Pormath.

I should update the guild rules quite soon. I have been slacking on them.

This is a reasonable request and I am sure we can accommodate this.

Give me a day or two

Advice and Guides / Playing with Data off/ Airplane mode
« on: February 05, 2019, 02:20:32 pm »
Found this video on youtube that explains on how to use the airplane mode trick in simple easy to understand terms.

Credit to Doug Miller who made the video and the dude has a awesome beard.

Link to video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psO4gdcmZ2g

Basically what you want to do is keep your data/wifi on till you enter the battle. As soon as you have entered turn on Airplane Mode on your phone. This will disable data being sent to the CG servers.

Do the battle and see how it goes.

When the battle is over you will get a message that there is a connection error and it will ask you if you want to reconnect by trying again.

If you liked the result then turn Airplane mode off and click on try again which will then post your score to the CG database.

If it is not the result that you were looking for immediatelty force close the app on your phone and then go back into the game and try again.

You should be able to see the way it is done in the video

Advice and Guides / Re: Whats your plan for 2019?
« on: January 22, 2019, 06:53:41 am »
Hmmm for me I like to chunk things up and my plans change when I reach a goal that I have set for myself.

This year I want to finish off my Nightsisters.

Asajj Done
Daka 7* but needs to be geared
Talia 6* farming her currently out of Cantina - She is 34/100 - Then gear
Zombie 5* Need to complete her and gear
Mother Talzin 4* and need to gear

Working on Resistance Trooper and Dengar in Guild Store.

Farming Bastilla currently.

My wampa needs 5 shards to 7*

After Talia is done I am moving to farm Aurra

and my focus will probably be Nightsisters, Bounty Hunters and Old Republic for the year.

Basically a team per phase of the Sith Raid

General Chat / Update on Guild Matters!
« on: January 15, 2019, 01:19:45 am »
15th January 2019:

Morning Ladies and Gentlemen.

First let's start off with some bad news. There will be no rancor today. We dont have enough tickets and we are still recovering from the holiday period.

Haat will launch tonight at 18:00 with a 24 hour join period.

We have had a break from the Sith raid for 2 days and I hope you are all eager to get at it.

I am excited to see what you all can do. Let's finish it off quickly.

On some other news. Spocky will be taking on the role of overall Heroic Sith raid boss.

We have identified raid phase bosses and you will be glad to know that 3 have accepted the responsibility and we are waiting to hear from the fourth.

Pormath will be your Phase 1 Raid boss. I dont have to even explain. He is doing such an incredible job and we thank him for taking this up.

JJ has agreed to take on the role as phase 2 raid boss. Thanks for taking on the role. Think you can all see his drive and his farming skills.

Exodus has agreed to take on the role as phase 3 raid boss. Between him and Pormath they are killing it on the raid and the experience is invaluable to us. We hope to learn quite a bit from you guys.

There is also some exciting news. We have gotten someone that has applied for the Development Officer role. The person is currently getting things ready as it is a tall order of what we expect form the role and to see if they will be a good fit. We know they will be and we are excited about what the future holds.

We would like to get more of you involved across the guild.

We have a territory war council and if you have noticed a new one is upon us currently.

With all these changes to the war with them limiting the characters that can be used it is something new and different but it also means that the planning regarding the territory war is different.

We would appreciate some knowledge in regards to that and if you would like to throw a few ideas about let us know if you wanted to join the territory war council.

There is also a territory battle council. In here what is most important is the characters that are placed on platoons. Does the guild have them. Search through rosters and ask the specific members to deploy that toon.

I know some of you have indicated that you wanted more stars on the territory battles and we would appreciate your help there.

On another note as you are learning through the game even if it is something small please share and post on the forum. It will be greatly appreciated.

We are going from stride to stride and we need you all.

If you have suggestions then please feel free to message us.

Enjoy your day and dont forget the territory war

General Chat / Re: What should we do for 2019?
« on: January 10, 2019, 03:15:52 am »
First off, Hi everyone :-)

A huge thanks to our dedicated officers, you take all of the stress away and make this a game that's enjoyable even at the worst of RL times.

Well, I don't really have a long term plan right now, I'm gear 12ing my main Light Side characters since it seems pointless having them at Gear 10 if I want to use them in Arena\GA.
My Imperial troopers are next in line for mods, Bounty hunters are being leveled to 85 and will be geared and modded once the troopers are specced, but not any of the new ones for now.

I dislike the NS about as much as the Phoenix toons, but I've been farming the Phoenix bunch so that I can get their ships to round out my fleets, since I can't seem to break through 100 right now. Thrawn to replace the Red penguin in my main G10 Dark side squad once he's on board. Hoda needs about another 30 shards, although I'm not sure why I want him TBH.

I'm still waiting for a bloody Y-Wing and-or for them to nerf characters and ships that get stronger when you shoot them, what the dev's were thinking, I don't know... Game balance seems very out of whack right now, but hey, hopefully the balance will get a rework once Ugnaught gets his\her 3 Zeta's ;-)

Enough rant, I'm happy to follow any farming route as long as it will help the guild, but the goals need to be reachable. An all G12 Bastilla squad is a bit out of reach for me right now as well as being the most boring of options that I could think of. My preference would be to work on TB squads to maximise stars and rewards as well as some non standard surprise squads for TW defense, although it doesn't look like it's coming back anytime soon. I'd like to be able to solo the HAAT before I move to HSith, but not the most important thing as I seem to always miss the tank raids anyway.

That's me for now.

It is everyone of you that pop up and chat and talk and give advice that make this guild so enjoyable and make us go on day after day.

I remember when I started playing that one would take most of the characters to gear 8 and then they were viable in game. About mid through that suddenly changed as the game changed with the new features that were added. It then became gear 10.

Now with the introduction of Grand Arena I think most of us are realizing that that is just not cutting it and Gear 12 is the way to go. Finish off those Imperial Troopers and those Bounty Hunters they mean a lot in the game.

Since the rework on the BH they have just become amazing. As I am typing we are also seeing the introduction of the OT Falcon and BH Ships that will be used to unlock it.

LOL, in our passed conversations within the guild chat rooms I remember you disliking the NS and Phoenix Factions. Saw you also unlocked chopper last night at 7 stars. Congratulations on that though. Know it must be hard for you to farm them.

What makes this game great is the different views and gameplay from each member. Play the way you would like to play.

This game is changing and it is something new to master each day. They at this point of where you think you have something down then they introduce something else.

Saw now with Revan a good counter is zeta finn and C3P0. Constantly adding a meta and 2 to 3 months down the line introducing the counter.

I love the fleets. It is such a big part for me. I am surprised that it is such a little part of the game. I myself would like it expanded so much more. It is like a little after thought and I hope now with the introduction of OT Falcon that they really embrace the ships and start introducing some new ones.

I like your unconventional thinking in playing the game. That healing squad of yours in TW is amazing and I have seen how the guild have been trying the same thing all of a sudden. TW is returning in a few days but not in the form that we are used to with the exclusion of certain characters that will make us really have to think about what squads to place and what to hold for Attack.

Since our counters that we are used to might not have the character that we need.

I think Grand Arena has taken over the role of PVP that is straight forward and CG will now mess with that which we knew was TW.

Working towards heroic Sith is a long term project for sure, great to see so many people also aiming in that direction!

From my side:

Nightsisters sorted
Getting JTR this time, then it's gear, Zeta's etc for her.
Farming RT at the moment but that's a horrible farm (only 3 stars at the moment)

Also want to fine tune my first order both for TW defence and for Sith raid.  Kylo almost at 7 stars, still have to farm FOST

I won't be ready for Revan in the foreseeable future, will rather try to get C3PO first.

There's a LOT we can accomplish in the next 4 to 6 months - it's nice to see the focus from so many people

Let's do this!  :)

I agree it is nice to see so many sharing the same vision. We can do this. I am wondering how those sisters of yours will do. We have seen that 14 million run on phase 3 with the deathstorm technique.

You are more the optimist than what I am  ;) I am the realist.

Nightsisters are next on my list and then I am wondering if I should go C3PO route first or Revan. I got more of those furry bears in my arsenal. I quite like them.

It is amazing how many more peole are farming FO for Defense. I see three factions for defense currently in Grand Arena which are kicking some arse and that is Bastilla/FO/NS teams on defense. Makes it worth the investment.

Concentrating on HSith should be important, getting better LS and DS units for TW/TB will come with this I believe. I know that we might be limiting our selves to specific team/ units then but some people still farm toons that they like or are helpful for them. I feel that the G12 gear drops is more helpful than Traya would be for me.

At the moment I want to be ready for JTR and then I'll get my Ewoks ready for C3P0.
Not gonna get Raven for some time so I can concentrate on other teams.

My farming is as followings:

Primary farms:

LS - Jango + Hounds Tooth, Res Trooper

DS - Wicket and Bastilla

Cantina - Vet Han then DT

Suilenroc I agree as time passes the characters needed for TW/TB will come. I would still like you all to farm the way you want and like to. At this stage in time I just feel that we should be moving onto the Heroic Sith Raid.

I saw again last night that we are speeding through T6 of the Sith Raid at a rate where we dont have enough tickets to keep it in a loop.

Those gear 12 drops I think will mean much more for the guild than the actual Traya shards as you state. It would allow us to take the characters to another level and bring something else to each squad.

Good Luck with the JTR event. I am myself busy with Vet Chewy and am currently 183 shards away from 7*.

You prepping for C3PO?

Hi Guys

Hsith is the natural progression we should focus on this year i think........TBH at the moment i auto all tiers of the sith raid and in reality i should be doing it manually with some strategy, i will be working to do it more correctly, just need to do my homework.

My biggest problem is that i am 3mil gp but this is mainly because i have farmed all the characters to unlock them because in our old guild, myself and all the other officers carried the guild and we needed characters to keep the TW going. i just need to get out of that mind set.

At the moment i am farming for Revan mainly, i have got  JS....3star,BS....5 star,TM.....5 star,MZ....4 star,Z....6 star ............still along way to go.............

Bounty hunters....Dengar(4 star) is my main focus, all the others are good enough except for Sing(5 star)................

Ns are all good, i am just topping them up as i go along......getting them to gear XII....only NZ left

Side projects when i can are smugglers, don't really have much progress there.

Anyway...........love being in this guild and if  you guys need me concentrate on other squads let me know i really don't mind swapping things around   ;D ....................

You guys rock and thanks to the Officers and Dragoh for all their hard work...........................

Hi Rogue77

I think we all agree that the natural progression should be Heroic Sith. Till about recently I am also one of those that just slapped a team in there and hoped for the best. Through the past weeks of looking at this Heroic Sith and trying to understand and learn it I myself have learned quite a lot.

Your farming for your old guild is noble and admirable. I think a lot of people have been or are in that same boat as I look throgh the swgoh groups and forums. You get single players trying to carry a guild. I think this guild is a little bit different and we are moving through the game in a steady pace and we carry each other.

Keep on your farms, you are farming the exact characters that are needed. The BH's, Revan etc. it makes me excited to see how many of you are going for that exact combination.

Thanks for the mention for the officers, they really put in hard work in the background to make sure the wheels are turning even slowly at a time.

Hi Guys

I also agree with what most are thinking, I think HSith is the natural progression although I personally suck at sith and am way off from Hsith, I'm happy to throw what I have at it while I build which is currently what I do in T6 anyway  :D

Exodus' thoughts on TB is also great.

I'll support and go along with any decision our leadership goes with.

My focus at the moment has been to get FO ready so I can get BB8 7* then move on to the rest of the chars required for JTR, also for defence in TW & GA. I've also been working on Nightsisters for defence in TW & GA. I see this morning that FO & NS are also handy in some phases of Hsith so that's a bonus.

Ships are also something I've spent a lot more time on recently as on a whole most of my squads are pretty weak and I'm seeing that in GA, so for TW, GA. I'm already starting to see some improvement in Fleet Arena and an occasional Zeta mat popping up in my rewards.

Looking forward to whatever decisions are made as this game just keeps getting bigger & bigger.

Clint I love ships. It is for me one of the most underated parts of the game. I think most of you have seen I run in the top 10 of my shard and the crystal rewards are amazing.

Slow and steady also wins the race. Thanks for the support!

Build up that FO squad for Defense it is really helping my own gameplay and I have done it specifically for TW/GA for defense. You wont be dissapointed

Sounds like a solid plan!

Exodus and Soisie, as TB officer, I like the way you think!

I like the way Exodus and Soisie think as well. If they dont watch out I will rope them into doing something for Territory Battles for me or into other roles into the guild  ;)

Hi guys! I kinda feel the same as Exodus. Would like toe get all the stars in TW!! Would also like to try Hsith. My Resistance squad is ready, just waiting for JTR event to come again. Busy focussing on my team to unlock Revan. Nearly there. Need 2 more toons at 7 stars. Will then consentrate on my ewoks and BH for 3PO and Chewie

Brilliant Soisie!!!

BTW I would also like to get more stars in TB and win more and more TW's. I know the first attempt might be wonky and we might need to abandon it but we will get there. Focus on those farms, sounds like you have everything worked out and we need to come learn from you and JJ about farming.

Revan is only a pipedream for me right now. I do focussed farming and dont stop until they are done.

Nice job.

Hi

I’m happy t aim for HS, I should get JTR this round and am aiming towards Revan. I have a pretty good NS with 3 G12 and my FO is coming along nicely.

I’m quite in line with the dictated farms if that’s what you advise

Nice Aslem, good to hear. I know JTR would not be a problem for you and good luck for Revan. Have a look at the NS squads for P4 as I am sure we will be needing you there to finish off the raid.

All of you are doing such an amazing job.
